That is a sad idea. So much important knowledge of the past is lost through greedy diggers pilfering the past for whatever tidbits they can find.

you're exactly right to be concerned Sandy. I do alot of work re looting issues in Southeast Asia, but addiction fueled looting is not something we've come across yet (fingers crossed). One of the archaeological projects I worked on (different company than Homer's) had to deal with local kids vandalizing the site and disturbing our work every night until the cops were called. There was subdivision all around the site...
