After last night's rehearsal, I raced to the airport to collect Mark and Zane. There they were, shivering curbside in the 50-degree weather, looking as handsome and tired as ever. Poor fellas. As much as we do the 15 to 20-hour trip between our continents, we'll never get used to what it does to us.
You know, there is nothing in the world like the feeling of those extra few seconds of that first tight hug from your child after being separated for months. Nothing. Except the feeling of that which you get from your partner for the same reason.
Right now, it is very early morning, and they are both busy snoozing away the jet-lag. That will take a few days, but it's a good start.
I'm up early to log in some work hours. This will be my routine for the next few weeks, burning the pre-dawn oil, in order to free up most of the day to spend with them. I wish I were on vacation, but alas, I am not...nor are the bills.
There's something heartwarming about sitting at the kitchen table toiling away, the sound of Zane's deep breathing coming from living room, where he is sleeping only a few feet from me. I don't know if my preference at the moment would be buried under the covers next to Mark, or right where I am. Nevertheless, I couldn't be happier.
Great news that they are here! Have fun...Merry Merry

I'm very happy for all three of you. I'm sure they are missing the warmth of Sydney.
