...not for a while at least. I'm over it. Plus, I have too many things on my own plate right now and need to refocus.
In order to free my mind, I went for a hike with my friend, Lani. My knee isn't happy tonight, but I am.
We were supposed to go to Sabino Canyon, but the third person who was to join us (and my ride over there) bailed on us at the very last minute. So Lani jumped in her car, drove all the way from her place to mine, and we went for a hike near Starr Pass instead.
We weren't out of the car and on the trail for 10 minutes before we spotted a couple of deer, peacefully munching on the scrubby vegetation. It beats me how they can find enough to eat out there, but they looked healthy enough.
Not expecting to come across picture-worthy wildlife so early in the hike, I had a hard time unearthing my camera. By the time I did, they had both scuttled nearly out of sight.
I enjoy hanging out with Lani. We discuss all kinds of things, light and heavy, from the pros and cons of hiking boot brands, to the hard work entailed in figuring out one's professional niche. Mostly we just happily succumb to the importance of freeing one's mind from the worries of life.
Nice pictures as usual!

I'm with you, I'm over all mention of poitics for the foreseeable future!
Meanwhile, how stunning is that scenery. This may sound a bit odd to you as thay are probably passe to you, but seeing cactii like that is incredible to me, simply because they are purely the stuff of old west movies for an Aussie like me!

Ooh, beautiful. I'm in the Palm Springs Airport waiting to fly back to Chicago, so I'll take any little bit if the desert that I can get right now. I've never heard of Starr Pass. Where is it? It looks lovely.
