- Bought a June bus pass yesterday from a pimply girl behind bullet-proof polymer. I interrupted her discussion with two (hunky) security guards sitting in the booth with her. Girl wasn't happy. I told her what I would like to buy, plucked a $20 bill from my wallet and handed it to her, then continued to dig for the remaining $8. Before I could retrieve it, however, she handed me the pass and some change. Then she turned her back to me and continued her sad, moist conversation. Confused, I walked away and looked at the pass. It was an economy pass, only $12. She either: a) thought I was old; b) thought I was disabled; c) couldn't be bothered waiting for me to collect the remaining fare; d) took pity on me, thinking I didn't have any more money; e) was stupid; or f) didn't care. Whatever it was, I can now ride all over the greater Tucson area for cheap. Joy.
- Joined a new singer/conductor pal for dinner last night. Drank too much wine, but I had a swell time visiting with him and his friends. If I had a table in the casita, I'd host a dinner to return the favor. But I guess we could just sit on the sofa and eat with our plates on our laps. [Note to self: nothing that requires much cutting on the plate.]
- Had coffee at Rainbow Planet this morning with a guy I'd met only briefly through a mutual friend, when I lived in Tucson a few years ago. Was cool.
- Got the next disc of Torchwood in the mail from Netflix today and another coming tomorrow. I'm in love with this series. The cannibalistic, serial-killing hick family episode scared the crap out of me. I hope there aren't really people out there like that. If there are, I hope they choke on a rib.

Eek. That episode of Torchwood was the creepiest.

My bet is she was just a kind hearted girl who likes making people's days.
Either that or she just didn't care. :)

I like to believe she was being kind and like me at my last job, on my last day I randomly forgave patron library fines! I just didn't care and it made me feel like the tooth faery.
Yes, you need a table.
That Torchwood episode was creepy. I kind of get the feeling somewhere around here there are people like them… or at least, “Squeal like a pig” kind of folk.

Couldn't possibly be (a) sweetie, certainly not (b).... I vote for (c) although (d) has a certain tragic note to it :-)

I have fond memories of the Rainbow Planet. It has always managed to keep its charm and cozyness for me. Hope it stays around until I can get back to town...whenever that may be.
